About the event

Working with unmotivated clients can be one of the most frustrating and challenging aspects of therapy. We might find ourselves feeling stuck, unable to break through barriers, and questioning our effectiveness as therapists. These experiences can lead to burnout and feelings of inadequacy.

Typically, we deal with this by learning another model, but when that doesn’t help, burnout increases and we feel even more hopeless.

What if there's another way?

In this training you’ll learn to recognize where your clients are in their journey of change, how to identify signs of both motivation, ambivalence, and resistance, and most importantly, how to skillfully respond in a way that guides them toward meaningful progress. This is about enhancing your ability to support clients in a way that resonates with their unique needs and circumstances—not by imposing motivation, but by cultivating it naturally through evidence-based techniques.

In this training you will learn:

  1. How to easily assess a client's level of motivation.

  2. Identify common errors that decrease motivation.

  3. Practice using evidence based responses to reduce resistance and enhance motivation.
