About the event

Many counselors feel stuck with their clients. If you are being honest with yourself, you’ve probably had thoughts like these:

  • "My client nods along and says 'I need better boundaries,' but she never takes action."

  • "Sometimes I have these magic moments in therapy... and sometimes it falls completely flat. I don't get it."

  • "I'm embarrassed to admit it, but my sessions feel boring."

When we hit a wall like this, it’s natural to think we need a new model. We assume, “Maybe I just don't know enough about this specific issue,” ask colleagues for recommendations, and spend a weekend learning an entirely new framework.

But what if your model isn't the problem?

The problem isn't the theory you're using—it’s how you handle the micro-moments in therapy. Instead of abandoning your approach, you just need the practical skills to navigate these crucial, second-by-second interactions.

In this training we'll show how each of these questions is linked to a specific clinical micro-moment and how to fix it.

In training we'll cover:

  1. "My client nods along and says 'I need better boundaries,' but she never takes action." - Motivation

  2. "Sometimes I have these magic moments in therapy... and sometimes it falls completely flat. I don't get it." - Engagement

  3. "I'm embarrassed to admit it, but my sessions feel boring." - Depth

  4. "That was weird. I'm not sure what happened." - Body Language

This training is appropriate for both supervisors and clinicians. Licensed and unlicensed clinicians are welcome.
